We know saying yes to a conference talk costs real time and real travel, and we don't take that lightly. Thank you for trusting. We'll do our best to make sure you have a great experience.
If any of the information below is unclear, ambiguous, or feels off, email speakers@lisbonai.org and we'll fix it.
A look at the builders, founders, and researchers who took the stage in 2025. You're in good company.
Standard slot. Pick one idea, show the code, leave room to breathe.
Fast and punchy. Great for a single demo or a sharp opinion.
Hands-on, smaller room. We'll share laptop / setup expectations ahead of time.
Airport: The Lisbon Portela airport (LIS) is around 20 minutes by taxi from Belém. The venue, Centro Champalimaud, is by the river.
Travel: We reimburse economy (or similarly sensible) fares, NET 30 after we get your receipt. Send us your receipt by August 31st at the latest. After this date, we'll have to check if we still have budget for it or not.
Accommodation: We will book your stay for up to two nights in a 4‑star hotel near the venue (check‑in Sep 22, check‑out Sep 24). Let us know if:
Extra nights or rooms are on you—though we’ve secured friendly rates.
Community: If your company has a budget or is otherwise able to sponsor your travel and stay, we'll list it as part of our Community in our website, and you'll get 2 complimentary tickets to boot.
Speaker dinner: There's a speaker dinner the night before (Sept 22) and a time for wrap drinks on Sept 24. Everything is on us, of course. Let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.
No. Two or three plain-English paragraphs. If your friends would read it, it's the right length.
Yes, as long as it's an honest one. Live demos > polished videos. We'll help you de-risk the wifi.
Yes. Every talk is live-streamed and published on YouTube within ~2 weeks. Slides are published if you allow it.
If needed, we can cover travel and stay for invited speakers. Work with us and we'll do our best to accommodate any particular requirements.
We haven't done that before, but we're into the idea if you are. Let us know early so we can wire them into the schedule and comms.
Every speaker, attendee, and volunteer agrees to our code of conduct. It's short and (we hope) sane, but non-negotiable.
Stuck on something? Want to bounce talk ideas off us? Feel free to reach out.
Speaker comms are handled by Fred, who'll be your point of contact throughout the event. If you'd rather skip the shared address and reach a human directly, email fred@lisbonai.org or DM @f on X/Twitter. Either works!
See you in September!
